VAS Group Ecosystem – Foundation for a Sustainable Business Strategy

VAS Group Nghi Son [VAS Group] was founded in 1998 and now owns a series of billet and steel rolling mills and international ports. With the help of its member companies, VAS Group invests in infrastructure development and constructs a full fledged ecosystem to advance its sustainable business strategy.

VAS Member Companies Spread Across Vietnam

The network of VAS Group Member Companies covers
the main parts of the country.

After nearly 25 years of development, the VAS Group currently comprises of 6 member companies, namely:

1. VAS Steel Nghi Son [NSS]

  • Based in the Nghi Son Iron and Steel Complex, Thanh Hoa Province.
  • Annual Product Capacity: up to 3,150,000 tons of billets and 1,500,000 tons of steel.

2. Danang Steel [DNS]

  • Based in the Lien Chieu Industrial Zone, Da Nang City.
  • Annual Capacity of 200,000 tons.

3. VAS Steel Viet My [VMS]

  • Based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone, Da Nang City.
  • Annual Capacity of 250,000 tons.

4. VAS Steel An Hung Tuong [AHT]

  • Based in Ben Cat Town, Binh Duong Province.
  • Annual smelting capacity of 500,000 tons and annual rolling capacity of 250,000 tons.

5. VAS Steel Tue Minh [TMS]

  • Based in Bac Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province.
  • Annual Capacity of 500,000 tons of billets and 500,000 tons of rolled steel.

6. Nghi Son International Port [NSIP]

  • Based in Nghi Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province.
  • Incoming synthetic bulk cargo capacity up to 70,000 DWT; Container offload and carriage capacity up to 30,000 DWT; handling of liquid cargo ships of up to 70,000 DWT.

The establishment of member companies has enabled VAS to utitize the circular economic model to effectively implement its sustainable development strategy. Specifically, its highly specialized companies dealing with steel production are mutually complementary and help to enhance capacity and best secure both the quantity and quality for products, while ports offer competitive edge in terms of logistics, delivery schedule, and ability to satisfy customers’ increasingly diverse demands. The Nghi Son International Port is not only a guarantor of effective shipments for VAS steel products but also a key contributor to the sea transportation in Thanh Hoa Province, and more broadly, the Northern Central region.

Not only does VAS steel products enjoy domestic confidence, it has also conquered over 10 countries, including Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Cuba, Switzerland, and most recently, Guatemala [Central America].
