The secret to a quarter-century success of VAS Group Vietnam’s leading steel manufacturer

Over the past 25 years, the VAS Group has employed 6,000 workers, owned five steel production companies and one international port, all of which operate in uniformity thanks to its “secrets of the trade”.

VAS Group is a large-scale group that ranks among the Top 5 Steel Manufacturers in Vietnam and which comprise five member companies specializing in steel production, one port operator, and a 6,000-strong workforce across the country. Since its inception in 1988, the VAS Group comprises a series of steel billet and rolling mills capable of producing over 4.35 million tons of square steel billets and over 2.5 million tons of construction steel annually. The five constituent factories of the Group operate in unison and complementarity like puzzle pieces that form the bigger picture of seamless production. In March 2022, VAS Group was honored with the “Top 200 Prize of the Vietnamese Golden Star in 2021” Award which was voted by the Vietnamese Central Youth Union and the Vietnamese Central Young Entrepreneurs Union.

Moreover, the VAS Group maintains tight control of its product quality to ensure the consistent compliance with standards. All VAS steel products are produced with the advanced production chain from Italy’s Danieli Group – one of the leading global businesses in steel billets and rolling mills. Its factories also apply scientific and professional processes, from material treatment, billet and steel production, to furnished steel production. VAS steel is certified as meeting the Vietnamese QCVN:2011/BKHCN standard [TCVN], Japanese standard [JIS], American standard [ASTM], and the ISO 14001 environmental standard.

The Nghi Son Port completes the VAS Group’s Ecosystem.

In addition to production, the VAS Group has also operated an international port system which contributes to the completion of an ecosystem that helps further its cause for sustainability. The addition of the Nghi Son International Port [Thanh Hoa Province] gives a logistical advantage and helps the VAS to better satisfy all demands in terms of production output, quality, and delivery time. Thus far, VAS steel products have conquered more than a dozen international markets, including some of the toughest in terms of quality and brand reputation, such as Japan and Korea, or far away on the other side of the Hemisphere, such as Guatemala [Central America]. The Group currently targets larger markets, including the United States, Canada, and Australia.
