The Groundbreaking Ceremony of Nghi Son Steel Rolling Factory Project No. 2 in Thanh Hoa Province

Yesterday morning, January 12th, 2022, VAS Group Nghi Son Joint Stock Company | VASG held successfully the Groundbreaking  Ceremony of Nghi Son Steel Rolling Factory Project No. 2.  [NMLCT No. 2] with a designed capacity of 3 million tons/year. This is an important milestone in the development roadmap, increasing output, VASG's position in the Vietnamese and regional markets.

In the warm atmosphere of the early spring days, the ceremony took place solemnly with the participation of comrades: Do Trong Hung |Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Do Minh Tuan |Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Thi |Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Pham Thi Thanh Thuy |Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Tien Hieu | Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Provincial Industrial Parks; former leaders of the province; representatives of provincial departments, branches and agencies and partners of the enterprise.

This is a project using the most modern Italian steel technology DANIELI in Europe, a total investment of VND 8,000 Billion, designed capacity of 3 million tons of steel billet/year: 1,5 million tons of steel billet/year will be produced 1,5 million tons of rolled steel billet/year and is divided into 2 investment phases:

• Phase 1: from January 2022 to March 2023; 
• Phase 2: from July 2022 to March 2025. 

Together with the Nghi Son Steel Rolling Factory Project No. 1, Nghi Son International Port, and the Nghi Son Steel Rolling Factory Project No. 2 completed and put into operation, it will create jobs for more than 5,000 workers in Nghi Son economic zone and annually contribute to the budget of Thanh Hoa province from VND 3 Billion to VND 4,000 Billion per year. Nghi Son Steel Rolling Factory Project No. 2 is also the 6th project that enterprises invest in Nghi Son Economic Zone.

This is a proud achievement that demonstrates the determination and consensus of 6,000 employees in the entire VASG system stretching from North to South as well as the timely companionship and support of local authorities during the year was full of challenges of 2021.
