“Green and Clean” right from the raw material washing and waste treatment process
Being the trendsetter of the "Green and Clean" revolution and a pioneer steel brand in building sustainable development strategies in the steel industry here in Vietnam, VAS Group has invested large capital to modernize the waste treatment process, establishing a solid foundation for the VAS green Steel production journey.
Not only does VAS Group collect scrap domestically but it also expands its scrap collection all over the world, contributing to significantly reducing the amount of harmful solid waste – a type of waste that no one can know for sure if it would take tens or hundreds of years, or even an "indefinite" number of years to completely decompose. However, here at VAS Group, in just 05 [five] months, starting at Nghi Son Port Logistics Area, these solid wastes will be recycled and converted into the globally acclaimed VAS green Steel.
The process of classifying and pre-processing scrap at Nghi Son Port Logistics Area is guaranteed to be strictly managed while still meeting the daily production raw material needs at VAS Nghi Son Steel Mill. The scrap processing stage is operated through a system of advanced machinery and equipment, minimizing the amount of DO used, reducing carbon emissions, contributing to energy conservation, and improving air quality.

The strategic investment in the waste treatment system at Nghi Son Port Logistics Area further demonstrates the "Green and Clean" development strategy of VAS Group. This waste treatment process meets environmental standards by having industrial wastewater collected in large tanks with a total volume of 7800m³, processed and recirculated for use in road irrigation, garden irrigation, dust suppression, and firefighting and prevention. The entire waste treatment process is invested in exclusively by VAS Group while the system is strictly inspected and managed by the environmental monitoring stations and daily reports are sent to state-owned agencies under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Carrying forward VAS's commitment to be there for people and the community over the past two decades, ensuring a green environment that is friendly and safe for workers' health, the Group invested in a dust filtering mist spraying system, planted trees and installed dust screens around the area to minimize the negative the impact on the environment and keep the working environment clean.
Alongside the largest material washing area in Vietnam – Nghi Son Port Logistics Area, VAS Group continues the process of regenerating scrap using the world's leading modern production line from Danieli [Italy]. At the VAS steel mill, "green" scrap is melted and transformed into millions of internationally qualified VAS green Steel products, that are steadily building the Group's reputation with customers and partners locally and internationally while contributing to expanding export markets and promoting Vietnam's steel worldwide.
